A very important cosideration is the excess, you’ll be asked to sign the box on our rental agreement that says you understand you are liable for the amount stated in the event of damage or claim on our insurance policy. Do not hesitate to ask about our CDW (collision damage waiver) if you are not comfortable with the figure stated.
The next box you’ll be asked to sign is the authorised driver declaration. This is to show you understand that only the drivers named on the agreement or additional driver forms are permitted to drive the vehicle on this agreement
Claims and convictions – you will be asked to sign and print in the box that you have declared to us any claims, convictions and impairments that may affect our ability to insure you.
Transfer of liability – the final signature before your journey begins. This box allows us to return any penalty charge notices to the issuer stating that the you as the hirer accepts liability for them. They will then be reissued to yourselves. In this occurrence we will add a £25.00 administration charge to your rental agreement.
We will show you round the vehicle and any existing marks or damage. Our staff will be happy to explain any controls if you are unfamiliar with the vehicle. They will also explain where to return the keys if our offices are closed when you return. You will get an emailed copy of the inspection report straight away.
Take the guesswork out of refuelling - we operate a full to full refuelling policy, the car will be full when you pick it up and we ask that you return it full, so you know you are only paying for the fuel you have used!
Enjoy your trip!
Our insurance will only accept drivers between the ages of 25 to 75. There are additional conditions that would prevent you from hiring:
Each driver will be required to show their driving licence at the time of hire.
The older paper licence version must be accompanied with some photo ID as proof of identification. Each driver will also be required to show an additional document with their name and personal address. Documents must be no older than 2 months. Acceptable documents include: Bank Statement, Credit Card Statement, Current Council Tax Bill, Utility Bill, HMRC Tax return etc.
To hire a vehicle you will need to share your licence via the DVLA website. The first part of this process requires the driving licence holder to generate a unique, one time use access code for their record. This is done by the driver logging on to the DVLA 'View Driving Licence' service and entering their licence number, national insurance number and postcode.
https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
Once the licence is displayed the driver needs to click on the tab 'Share Licence' and on the next page click on the 'Create Code' button. In order to hire a vehicle we need this when you come to collect the vehicle. If you have problems creating a code online, you can ring the DVLA helpline on 0300 083 0013
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance. It is an optional service which, if accepted, limits your financial responsibility for damage to any vehicle that you hire from LCH Vehicle Hire.
The standard excess varies according to the vehicle type:
This can be reduced to £250 + VAT for cars, and £500 + VAT for Lutons, Minibus & MPVs by taking out the CDW. This is £13.50 per rental day.
Note: Some vehicles may have a higher excess. Contact us for further information.
Yes - an additional driver costs £6.00 per day.

Note: Weekly Deals and Weekend Specials have a set allowance.
Excess mileage will be charged at £0.24 per mile. This co-incides with our fair use policy of a maximum of 3000 miles per calender month or pro rata.
The following are included in the rental price for vehicles from LCH Vehicle Hire:

A 25% deposit may be required on advance bookings. At the time of collection we 'pre-authorise' £250 on your card. This is released on satisfactory return of the vehicle.
